I have been suffering with light-headedness and fainting for the past eight months. I have been told that it is due to low blood pressure. I have now been told that I may lose my job due to this as I get an episode of this maybe once a week and am now not fit to work.

Are there any herbal remedies that I can take for this as there is no medication for low blood pressure. I have been told to increase my fluid and salt intake which I have.
Thanks for your answers I have just had a few more blood tests done which revealed a ferritin of 4 and Iron of 7, also my TSH was 4.75. I am hoping that this iron deficiency has been the problem all along and that if they had of taken these specific bloods months ago I would not feel so ill now. Thanks for your help!!

Licorice extract……known to raise blood pressure.

Some licorice sweets might do the work but they would have to be the real deal because most modern licorice as sold in ordinary sweet shops has no licorice extract at all….i.e. fake licorice and has too much sugar. Try your health shop but get an assistant to double check the label for the if you are unsure…..should say licorice extract.

Panda licorice sold at H&B in the UK is real licorice (with the extract). It uses molasses for sweetener instead of sugar.

It is made in the European union but is probably sold worldwide. There are other brands though that still use licorice extract….usually sold in health shops.

You could alternatively try licorice tea or a licorice capsule.

If you want to try this….don’t overdo it, drink plenty of water and keep an eye on your blood pressure. You could say for instance try one 32g panda licorice bar a day and see if that helps.
